Though the band reformed in 2012 for a series of live shows, including a run of huge homecoming gigs in Manchester, there have been no songs for new fans to hear so far. However, the band's bass player, Mani, is quoted by a source as saying that there will be a new studio album from The Stone Roses in 2015. Speaking to Gigslutz in Manchester, Mani was asked about the possibility of new songs and said: "Yeah we've been working on a few bits." Pushed for a specific date to when fans will hear the album, he replied: "2015 man, 2015!" Asked to confirm or deny what Mani said, a spokesperson for The Stone Roses told NME: "No comment."NME The Stone Roses do have a record deal should any new material emerge and are known to be working on fresh songs. In 2011 the band signed two record deals ahead of their 2012 reunion shows. Universal Records have signed the band in the UK and worldwide, while Columbia, owned by Sony, have contracted the band in the US.
