New Zealand born, London-based singer-songwriter, Thom Cross, captivated the industry last year with his ‘Extended Play’ EP, which saw closing track ‘O, Constellations!’ nominated for “Track Of The Year” by Labelled Independent’s podcast. With his vocals reminiscent of U2‘s Bono, Cross has the versatility to deliver a soft underbelly verse to a souring, anthem-like, chorus infused with electronic, rock and pop elements. ‘Heavy Sea’ is a great example of Cross’ capabilities in producing quintessential pop rhythms with strong, catchy, vocal melodies to instantly make the track one to remember. Mixed by Grammy Award winning Guy Massey (Manic Street Preachers, Ed Sheeran) and co-wrote alongside Martin Hedstrom (Linda Ronstaadt), ‘Heavy Sea’ is the obvious indication that Cross is set for bigger and better things in 2014.
