Kurt Cobain Day in Aberdeen, Wash., the hometown of the singer of Nirvana. So the city, which is about 80 miles outside of Seattle, is honoring the late frontman (who would have been 47-years-old yesterday) with a statue… that kind of looks like the lead singer of Nickelback crying? KXRO reports the city is celebrating with a concert and exhibit at the Aberdeen Museum of History that includes Nirvana T-shirts and a couch that Cobain slept on — plus a few other items that would have probably actually made Cobain shed a tear. “We hope this is just as big as Graceland eventually,” Aberdeen Mayor Bill Simpson told USA Today. Nirvana will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
