'" Robbie Williams - Shine My Shoes

ORGANISERS are appealing for Robbie Williams to join other local celebrities in a charity football match between Stoke City and Port Vale to raise awareness for Alzheimer's. The match is the brainchild of former Vale and Crewe Alexandra striker Tony Naylor, who has launched a 'We Want Robbie' campaign, which is gaining momentum on Facebook.Swings Both Ways Tony said: "It would be massive if we could get him to join in the match and we would desperately love him to be there. "Robbie played in a lot of testimonials while I was at the Vale. He loves the club and he loves his football, plus it would be a good opportunity for the people of Stoke to see their hero again." If he accepts, the life-long Vale fan will line up alongside other celebrities including Johnny Wilkes, Nick Hancock and Signal 1's Jonty Sargeant. Aside from raising awareness about Alzheimer's, money will also be donated to local mental health charity Approach. Tony added: "That is what it is all about. Whatever money is raised will go to Approach to ensure the people in this area benefit from it. "There is nothing bigger than football in Stoke-on-Trent. The more people we can get through the gate is fantastic." Potters and Vale legends, including Ian Rush and Steve Guppy, will also feature in the match, which will kick off at 3.00pm at Vale Park on May 18. And former Vale manager, John Rudge, who stood in the dugout from 1983 to 1999, will take charge of his side one more time for the game. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for juniors and are available from the Vale Park ticket office and website.
